Historical Information
OUTLAW and OUTLAW supporters held a vigil in the Student Commons on Friday, February 23rd, when the law school suspended our nondiscrimination policy and allowed Army and Navy recruiters-employers who openly discriminate based on sexual orientation-access to the career services office. As part of the vigil, there was a vocal protest in the Commons at 10:00 AM with various speakers addressing how the suspension of the nondiscrimination policy impacted them. Friday was a very painful and offensive event for us and, we presume, for all decent, caring individuals in our university and law school community. It was heartwarming and reassuring to have so many in our community show support at the vigil with their presence, including law school faculty, administrators, and staff.
