Law School Appoints Two Outstanding Faculty Members
Initiative Unveils International Treaty Draft, Bassiouni Receives World Peace Through Law AwardTop international criminal law experts unveiled and discussed a draft of a multilateral treaty condemning and prohibiting crimes against humanity as part of the law school's Crimes Against Humanity Initiative. Peggie Smith, currently the Murray Family Professor of Law at the University of Iowa College of Law and a nationally known expert in employment law, has accepted a position as professor of law, effective July 1. [
Adam B. Badawi, currently a Bigelow Fellow and lecturer in law at the University of Chicago Law School, has accepted a position as associate professor of law, effective July 1. [
lllinois Appellate Court Justice Sharon Johnson Coleman, JD ’84, has been nominated by President Obama to serve on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. [
