Law School Appoints Two Outstanding Faculty Members

Peggie Smith, currently the Murray Family Professor of Law at the University of Iowa College of Law and a nationally known expert in employment law, has accepted a position as professor of law, effective July 1. [more]

 

Adam B. Badawi, currently a Bigelow Fellow and lecturer in law at the University of Chicago Law School, has accepted a position as associate professor of law, effective July 1. [more]

 


Initiative Unveils International Treaty Draft, Bassiouni Receives World Peace Through Law Award

Top international criminal law experts unveiled and discussed a draft of a multilateral treaty condemning and prohibiting crimes against humanity as part of the law school's Crimes Against Humanity Initiative. The World Peace Through Law Award also was presented at the March 11-12 conference at the Brookings Institution. [more]

Distinguished Alumni Awards – April 9
Six alumni will be honored at the Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 9 in the Crowder Courtyard, Anheuser-Busch Hall. The event honors alumni who have obtained distinction in their professional or academic careers. The 2010 recipients are Dale Cammon, JD ’75; Frank Gundlach, JD ’63; Jerry Hunter, JD ’77; and Sheldon Novick, JD ’77.
