Tuition Costs and Deposits

Total tuition and living expenses for one year is approximately $72,842. Washington University School of Law is a private institution and top law school, and competition to attend is very high. However, over 80% of our law students receive some type of financial aid, including scholarships and grants, and the cost of living in St. Louis is very reasonable compared to other cities and regions of the country.

Admitted applicants must pay the School of Law a non-refundable tuition deposit of $300 by April 15 to reserve your seat in the incoming class.

A second non-refundable tuition deposit of $500 is due by June 1 preceding first-year registration. All tuition deposits are applied to tuition.

Admitted applicants who fail to accept and deposit by their deposit deadline(s) may lose their reserved seat in the class and their offer of admission may be rescinded.
